In Manila, SOPP was held in two sites-- in Quezon City and Pasig City. There were also SOPP held elsewhere around the archipelago, namely: in Baguio City (Northern Luzon), Cebu (Visayas Region), and Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao).
In Quezon City, the SOPP program was held at Bali Hai Garden Restaurant along Visayas Avenue. It was attended by around 40 people who composed of members and friends of the organizing groups-- Mandala Peace Arts Initiative (MPAI), and The Peacemakers' Circle-- and some representatives from different faith groups such as Brahma Kumaris, Ananda Marga, Philippine Karma Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist Society, Baha'i Faith, Shinji Shumei Kai, Peace Rainbow Missionary, Ginhawa Wellness Center, United Religions Initiative, Franciscan Missionaries - Justice, Peace & Intergrity of Creation (FMJPIC), Dahon Kusina, Thrid Eye Wellness Center, and Muslim-Christian Youth for Peace & Unity (MCYPU).
It was a simple and intimate gathering but with powerful meditation and prayers for peace and healing for the world.
Our unique version of the World Peace Prayer Ceremony this year is that the prayers from each different faith tradition was interspersed in between a batch of countries we prayed for. After each batch of 21 countries we all said:
"On behalf of Humanity,
We are sorry.
We thank you.
We love you.
May all these nations' missions be accomplished!"
We also had special prayers for The Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, North Korea & South Korea.
