Global Peace Meditation & Prayer Day connecting ceremony @Peacemakers' (May 18, 2008)

In the morning of May 18, 2008 (Sunday) -- Global Peace Meditation & Prayer Day -- the Byakko Shinko Kai-Pilipinas / ShinJin-Manila Satellite organization conducted a connecting ceremony to join the world in prayer and meditation for peace & healing and also to link with the Symphony of Peace Prayers simultaneously done at the Fuji Sanctuary in Japan.
There were 18 participants from different organizations and faith groups.

It started at around 10:30am with meditation and silencing through the 1-hour video of peace prayers from different countries. Then after short introductions an orientation to the event was given through a video showing of the Symphony of Peace Prayers in Fuji from the previous years.

This was followed by interfaith prayers from different faith representatives: 1) Christian prayer by Yeyette San Luis and a Christian song led by Auchee Villaraza; 2) Muslim prayer offered by Abdulkarim "Cocoy" Beltran (Muslim youth of The Peacemakers' Circle); 3) prayer-chanting by the Shumei Kai; 4) Tagalog prayer by Ding Reyes (SanibLakas/synergy for conscious oneness): and 5) Hindu prayer by Shakuntala Vaswani (United Religions Initiative-SEAsia-Pacific regional coordinator).

Capping off the ceremony is the world peace prayer & a performance of the JinruiSokuKamiNari Kokyuho In led by Mr. Mario "Toots" Fungo.

The whole affair was concluded with a happy mini-feast with lively conversations and a hearty, healthy lunch!

MAY PEACE PREVAIL IN THE PHILIPPINES!
